Boobs On Bikes details released
The eleventh Boobs on Bikes parade to be held in New Zealand (and the 7th in Auckland since the very first one in August 2003) will kick off from Cross Street at the top end of Auckland's Queen Street at 12:45 pm on Wednesday September 23rd 2009.
"This year's Boobs on Bikes is tipped to be the biggest ever if the number of New Zealand men and women applying to participate is anything to go by." says Michelle Ruebe, one of the organisers behind the controversial parade which sees topless men and women on the back of motorcycles, in convertible cars and even on retired army tanks parading down the main street of New Zealand's largest city which is lined with tens of thousands of spectators for the event.
"We are still more than three weeks out from the event and we already have more than double our previous greatest ever number of participants" says Ruebe "and more are applying every day. We even have some participants who will be on horseback, which will make it easier for people to see them".
"This year we are aiming for at least 100 male and 100 female people to take their tops off and get involved. If that happens we will be donating $7500 to the American Charity Clitoraid, which assists women in Africa who have suffered the horrors of female geneital mutilation. We will also have collectors out in the crowd and hope to raise much more for charity".
